Les Fonds de Quarreux

Les rocs de quartzite arrondis encombrant le lit de l’Amblève sont les témoins de la lutte violente opposant l’eau et la pierre.
La légende locale prétend que n’ayant pas respecté le pacte qu’il avait passé avec le Diable, le meunier de Quarreux vit son moulin, bâti sur les hauteurs de la vallée, s’effondrer brusquement, des blocs énormes de pierre s’éboulant dans le lit de l’Amblève.
