21.2.5.1 Prerequisites for using MySQL Clone with InnoDB cluster
The following conditions must be met for InnoDB cluster to be able to use MySQL Clone:
MySQL Clone can be used for a joining server if the new instance is running MySQL 8.0.17 or later, and there is at least one other server in the cluster running MySQL 8.0.17 or later.
MySQL Clone can be used for a joining server if the GTID set on the joining server is missing any transactions that are in the
GTID_PURGED
set of the cluster primary or seeds. (that is, UNRECOVERABLE)
