Le quartier entoure le Ford City Mall, un centre commercial qui fut nommé d'après l'usine d'aéronefs du groupe Ford qui, auparavant, occupait le site
Dans les prochaines années, la ligne orange du métro de Chicago sera étendue au quartier.
