Strom Thurmond (1902-2003) est un homme politique américain, membre du Parti démocrate de 1933 à 1964 puis du Parti républicain, ancien gouverneur de Caroline du Sud de 1947 à 1951, ancien candidat à la présidence des États-Unis en 1948 et sénateur au Congrès des États-Unis de 1955 à 2003. Walter Thurmond (né en 1987) est un joueur américain de football américain évoluant au poste de strong safety pour les Eagles de Philadelphie. Thurmond est également une ville américaine située en Virginie-Occidentale.
