Cara Qui Rit
Cara Qui Rit (lieu fictif) est dans la quête de la Tour Sombre le nom de la propriété située au numéro 19 du Chemin du Dos de la Tortue, à Lovell, dans le Maine. En 1979, deux ans après que John Cullum y a mené Roland Deschain et Eddie Dean afin qu'ils puissent s'en servir pour se téléporter dans le tunnel souterrain du Cochon du Sud, Stephen King achète la maison. À l'évidence, ou bien King sait flairer la magie, ou bien c'est la magie qui l'a dans le nez.
Tout comme les portes de la plage, Cara Qui Rit est un passage magique. Cependant, contrairement à ces portes, elle n'est pas le résultat de la tension psychique entre deux individus, mais de la magie pure et fortuite du PRIM. La Porte de Cara Qui Rit est l'origine des nombreux entrants rencontrés dans tout le Maine Occidental et le nord du New Hampshire. Le "Cara" n'est pas sans rappeler le "Sara" du nom de la maison de Mike Noonan, l'écrivain en panne d'inspiration dans un autre roman de Stephen King, Sac d'os.
