Μεγαρίς, Ancient Greece
La Mégaride (Μεγαρίς / Mégaris) forme un isthme entre l'Attique à l'est, la Béotie au nord et la Corinthie à l'ouest. Les monts Géraniens dominent le centre de la région. Ses habitants sont considérés comme des marins aventureux. La capitale, Mégare est célèbre pour le marbre blanc et l'argile fin.

La province de Megaris ou Megarida (grec : Επαρ χία Μεγαρίδας ou Μ&epsilon ;γαρίδα) était l'une des provinces de la préfecture de l'Attique orientale. Son territoire correspondait à celui des communes actuelles d'Aspropyrgos, d'Eleusis, de Mandra-Eidyllia et de Mégare. Il a été aboli en 2006.Μεγαρίς : descriptif
