Gulo gulo, le carcajou ou glouton , également connu sous son nom anglais de wolverine, est une espèce de mammifères au régime alimentaire omnivore à dominance carnivore
Solitaire et farouche, il vit dans la taïga et la toundra d'Amérique du Nord et d'Eurasie. Il fait partie de la famille des mustélidés, étant la seule espèce du genre Gulo. Il peut être très dangereux et agressif, ce qui lui vaut une réputation d'animal redoutable dans la culture populaire
Au Canada, il est qualifié d'« animal le plus féroce du Grand Nord ». Le poids d'un mâle adulte peut atteindre 18 kg.
