Omal (en wallon Oûmål) est une section de la commune belge de Geer située en Région wallonne dans la province de Liège
C'était une commune à part entière avant la fusion des communes de 1977. Code postal : 4252
Histoire
Omal est notamment célèbre pour la découverte des premiers sites rubanés, et donna son nom à cette civilisation : la civilisation omalienne. Des nombreuses fouilles archéologiques ont révélé des traces d'occupation humaine à toutes les époques : depuis le paléolithique, en passant par le néolithique avec la civilisation omalienne , l'âge du fer, l'époque gallo-romaine et finalement le haut Moyen Age.
