Définition de «Signal discret»

- Signal qui passe d'un niveau constant à un autre niveau constant.
Le signal discret est obtenu à partir du signal continu (ou analogique) comme une suite de mesures de celui-ci à des instants successifs séparés de la période d'échantillonnage (informations mesurées à des moments précisément répetés).
Nous sommes donc confrontés à une approximation due à l'utilisation de moyens numériques pour mémoriser l'information.
