Définition de «FPS»

FPS
Angl : Frames Per Second.
Fr : images par secondes.

Nombre d'écrans-images affichés par seconde.

Un cinéma traditionnel diffuse par exemple 24 images par secondes, tandis qu'un cinéma de type IMAX diffuse 60 images par secondes. Plus le nombre de FPS est élevé, plus le spectateur aura une impression de fluidité. Il est toutefois communément admis qu'au-dessus de 60 FPS le cerveau humain ne discerne plus la différence.
