À New York, la bomba latina Soledad vient de sortir un disque pour gramophone qui lui vaut les foudres d'un groupuscule presbytérien mené par le très médiatique révérend Fox. On ne pardonne pas à la chanteuse de militer pour le choix en matière d'avortement. Agressée lors d'un show-case, elle se réfugie chez son agent, Fourmille Gratule. Fourmille va accompagner Soledad et son groupe dans une tournée mouvementée qui les emmènera vers le sud jusqu'à La Nouvelle-Orléans…
