Sabine's boyfriend is a successful salesman at the business where she works and is up for a promotion. She overhears his boss telling Michel that being married could help his with some clients. Michel could sell "refrigerators to Eskimos", but Sabine worries that he pushes people into buying things they can't afford. When an old lady on a pension comes in and complains that she can't afford to pay, Sabine doesn't follow the company policy and shows compassion to the lady. She is fired and is sure that she has lost Michel too.
