Valérie Mangin est née dans l'est de la France en août 1973. En 1991, après un BAC scientifique, elle part faire des études d'histoire à Paris puis à l'Ecole des Chartes et à la Sorbonne. Une thèse plus tard, elle rencontre Denis Bajram lors d'une séance de dédicace de son album "Syndrome Z". Ils se marient fin août 1999 et travaillent ensemble à l'atelier Saint-Julien puis à celui de l’Étuve. La même année, Valérie compose les dialogues du premier tome des "Mémoires Mortes" dessinées par Lionel Chouin sur un scénario de Denis Bajram. En 2000, elle réalise le scénario d'une nouvelle série de science-fiction chez Soleil : "Le Fléau des Dieux" dont le dernier tome est sorti en mars 2005. Elle enchaîne avec succès sur d’autres séries "Le Dernier Troyen", "Le Petit Miracle", "Luxley" et dernièrement "UW1".
